The Avengers

Avengers fic is fandom's home for ensemble dynamics, found family, and large-scale post-canon reckoning. From classic Stony to Wintershock to platonic Steve-and-Sam, from Iron Family AUs to post-Endgame Time Heist fix-its, the MCU's roster gives writers more relationship combinations than almost any other source.

The Avengers source rewards fanfic because the ensemble was always too big for the canon screen time. Characters who barely got to share scenes — Bucky and Sam, Natasha and Wanda, Stephen and Tony — got entire long-fic relationships in fandom. The morally complex characters (Loki, Bucky, Wanda, Tony) attract the kind of writers who want to do the heavy lifting canon skipped. Post-Endgame Time Heist fix-its are common; so are full canon-divergent AUs where the Snap never happens. Modern non-superhero AUs (coffee shop, university) provide a softer counterweight.
